Diego Suarez Panther Chameleons

This locale is often referred to by hobbyists with some confusion, and
occasionally labeled the "Rainbow" locale. It is the author's opinion that
the most definitive color variation in this northernmost area of Madagascar
is a uniformly green background animal with vertical red bars. Some yellow
may appear in the background when the male is displaying, making them
similar in appearance to some animals taken from the Ambilobe locale. In
the past, any animal from north of Ambanja was often referred to as being
a Diego Suarez. But in recent years, new locales have been recognized from this area, with more to follow. Besides the Ambilobe varieties, new morphs are known to occur around Ankarana, but are not yet established within the hobbyist trade.
